Iguanas for Sale - Red Iguanas for Sale

Red Iguanas For Sale

2026 Masterclass in High-End Herpetoculture

In 2026, the Red Iguana (Iguana iguana) has solidified its position as the ultimate "living art" piece for advanced reptile keepers. While biologically identical to the standard Green Iguana, the Red variant is a stunning color morph—ranging from burnt orange to deep fire-engine crimson—offering a prehistoric, dragon-like aesthetic for the modern home.

FIRE RED IGUANA & COMPLETE SET UP!

I HAVE LOTS MORE OF PICTURES AND VIDEOS BUT WILL HAVE TO CONTACT ME FOR THEM. THIS SITE ONLY ALLOWS ONE.
I've decided to get out of the iguanas and my girl needs a good home.
****Keep in mind these animals live for about 20 years and reach the size of about 5-6 feet long. They need special heating lamps since they are reptiles, and will need a large enclosure. And they can not live together. They will eventually kill each other.
****Do your research before you decide to take on one of these! If you have any questions please feel free to shoot me a text or email. (I know sometimes info online can get a little confusing)
****Also realize this is not a first come first serve thing. I have become quite attached to her and I will hold on to her and pass up whoever I have to to be sure she gets put in a great home

*******INCLUDED:*******
-1 red iguana born July of 2015 I believe it's a female. Color is extremely different than most reds. Shes what some consider a "Fire Red" most red iguanas get more brown as they get older. She gets more orange/red colored.(if you don't know about the differences I'd be more then happy to show you with pics and stuff through email) Very uncommon in the United States. I have many breeders interested in her but I'd like to sell everything together. As she gets older she's worth more. (paid $200.00 for her)
-1 large cage. 48"x36"x18" on wheels, door on top and front, has drop pan, has basking shelf (list price is $519.99 plus 25.00 shipping)
-3 ceramic based lamps (the ones that won't overheat and melt), bulbs in each. day basking, UBV, night basking (each lamp was about $15.00 the bulbs were about $15.00)
-2 extra ceramic hear emitter bulbs for night time will last around 1 1/2 years each (paid a little more than $25.00 each)
-2 extra ceramic heat emitters for day time will last around 1 1/2 years each (paid a little more than $25.00 each)
-5 foot fake tree (paid $50.00 for)
-ordered an extra basking shelf (I think it was $45.00) I don't remember exactly.
-40lb sack of bedding for the bottom. (Something like 20-30.00)
-huge water/soaking bowl ($25.99)
-lizard leash ($12.00)
-hand held temperature gauge ($20.00)
-her spray bottle to mist her.
-whatever food she has left.

TOTAL EQUALS TO ABOUT $1118.00 not including all the other stuff I have for her. And about the 120.00 of tax on everything. let my loss be your gain.

I'll take 900.00 OBO for everything listed above. (Which is really just the price of cage, extra basking shelf for the cage, and iggy nothing else) or trade for a parrot.

WILL DO PAYMENTS!

Please email me! Or if you have an iPhone and iMessage text. I don't have service where I am so I'll only review. iMessage on wifi. Thanks!

I need money for a therapy animal so I've decided to get out of the iguanas and my girl needs a good home.

Popularity & Market Trends: The "Fire Dragon"

The popularity of Red Iguanas has surged in 2026 due to the "Designer Herpetoculture" movement. Key drivers include:

  • Social Media Appeal: Vibrant, saturated scales make them a favorite for "Reptile-fluencers."
  • The "Dinosaur" Personality: Highly intelligent animals capable of recognizing owners and being target-trained.
  • Advanced Lineages: High demand for "Super Red" and "Red Axanthic" strains that maintain color into adulthood.

Housing: Constructing a Tropical Fortress

Industry standards have shifted toward Custom PVC Sanctuaries and Grow Tents to accommodate their arboreal nature.

Juvenile Habitat (0–12 Months)

  • Minimum Size: 4'L x 2'W x 4'H.
  • Priority: Vertical space. Hatchlings feel vulnerable on the ground and require climbing height.

Adult Habitat (The Forever Home)

  • Dimensions: Minimum of 8'L x 4'W x 6'H for a single adult.
  • Material: PVC or sealed wood is preferred to retain 70%–80% humidity.
  • Visual Barriers: Add a dark border at eye level on glass to prevent "rostral rubbing" injuries.

Temperature & Lighting: The Solar Engine

Precise thermal gradients are mandatory for immune health and digestion.

Zone 2026 Target Temp Equipment
Basking Surface 105°F - 115°F 150W-250W Halogen Array
Ambient Warm Side 85°F - 90°F Deep Heat Projector (DHP)
Cool Retreat 75°F - 80°F Shaded Bottom Level

UVB: Ferguson Zone 3

Red Iguanas require high-intensity UVB to synthesize Vitamin D3.

  • Mandatory: T5 HO (High Output) linear UVB bulbs (10.0 or 12% output).
  • Placement: UVB must overlap the basking spot to replicate a natural sun patch.

Water & Hydration: More Than a Bowl

As "foliar drinkers," Red Iguanas rarely use a traditional bowl. In 2026, we utilize:

  • Automated Misting: Systems like MistKing to maintain consistent 75% humidity.
  • The Bath: A large, shallow basin for soaking and defecation.
  • Filtration: Industrial-grade aquarium filtration for large water features.

Food & Nutrition: The Folivore Diet

80% Leafy Greens
Collard, Turnip, Mustard, and Dandelion greens. 15% Vegetables
Butternut squash, Parsnips, and Bell peppers. 5% Fruit/Flowers
Hibiscus, Papaya, or Raspberries.

ERROR: Never feed animal protein or insects. This leads to premature gout and kidney failure.

Cost of Ownership: 2026 Price Guide

Category 2026 Estimated Cost
Red Iguana Specimen $150 – $500
Adult PVC Habitat $600 – $1,500
Lighting & Controls $250 – $400
Monthly Fresh Produce $40 – $70
Annual Vet Wellness Check $100 – $200

Personality & Socialization

Known for being "sassy," daily interaction is required. Never grab a Red Iguana by the tail; they can drop it (autotomy), and it may never regrow with the same color or structure.

Legal Compliance & Safety

As of 2026, Red Iguanas are heavily regulated in certain jurisdictions. Our marketplace requires all sellers to verify compliance with local wildlife laws, specifically concerning Florida out-of-state shipping regulations and permit-holding facilities.

Florida Sellers: All sales must be shipped out of state or to permit-holding facilities.
